Riparian Life
My students must post at least two different organisms into this mission. They are to find one that hasn't been posted yet. With this mission my hope is to show what great diversity there is in a riparian zone and the fresh water in which they envelope. Everything from birds and large mammals to aquatic invertebrates are welcome. Plants are fair games and let's see what amazing things we can find in the riparian and freshwater areas nearest you. Specialized netting might be needed in order to obtain the best underwater specimens.

This missions goal is to seek out riparian and fresh water organisms of N. Utah, S.E. Idaho, W. Wyoming. A riparian zone or riparian area is the interface between land and a river or stream. Riparian is also the proper nomenclature for one of the fifteen terrestrial biomes of the earth. Plant habitats and communities along the river margins and banks are called riparian vegetation, characterized by hydrophilic plants(Wikipedia). There is much life that is sustained by these zones. Your postings can be anything found within these zones at any time of the day, month, or year.
